Privacy Policy.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

The short version. I collect your name and email only if you sign up for my newsletter or the Closet Cue waitlist. I don't sell your information, ever. There are no display ads on this site and no behavioural ad targeting. Some shopping links are affiliate links — when you click one, my affiliate partner records the click so I get credit for the sale, and that partner is based in the United States. You can unsubscribe or ask me to delete your details at any time.

Cette politique est en anglais, comme la majorité du site. Si vous préférez en discuter en français, écrivez-moi à hello@beachvibes.ca — je suis acadienne et ça me fera plaisir de vous répondre dans votre langue.

Who I am

BeachVibes.ca is the personal creator site of Kay Pitre Beach, operating from 7 Babineau Avenue, Suite 209, Charlottetown, PE  C1A 0C9, Canada. This is a one-person business — when you email about privacy, you're emailing me, not a support desk. Reach me at hello@beachvibes.ca.

What I collect, and when

If you sign up for the newsletter

Your first name, your email address, and whether you'd rather hear from me in English or French. That's everything. I use it to send the newsletter and nothing else.

My mailing list runs on Cyberimpact, an email platform based in Québec. Your details are stored on Canadian servers. Signup is double opt-in, which means you'll get a confirmation email and you're not on the list until you click the link in it.

If you join the Closet Cue waitlist from this site

Same information, same platform, separate list. Closet Cue is my app — it has its own privacy policy covering the app itself.

If you use the collaboration form

The collaboration form doesn't send anything to a server. It opens your own email program with the details filled in, and you press send yourself. Nothing reaches me until you do, and what arrives is an ordinary email in my inbox — no form database, no third party in the middle.

Once you've sent it, I keep that email like any other business correspondence, and I'll delete it on request.

Just from visiting

My web host keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, which pages were requested, and when. That's normal for any website and I use it only to keep the site working and to see roughly how many people visit. I do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics package on this site.

Affiliate links — the honest details

Some links on this site, especially in the Shop, are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's how a site like this pays for itself, and I only ever recommend things I actually use.

The mechanics matter for your privacy, so here they are plainly. This site loads a script from Sovrn Commerce (the company behind VigLink), which turns eligible shop links into affiliate links. When you click one, your click routes through Sovrn so the retailer knows to credit me. In the process, Sovrn receives the page you were on, the link you clicked, and standard technical information such as your IP address and browser, and may set a cookie to remember the referral.

Sovrn Commerce is a United States company, so that click information is handled outside Canada under United States law. This applies to pages on beachvibes.ca, including the Shop. It does not apply to closetcue.ca, which runs no third-party scripts at all.

If you'd rather not be part of this, you can block third-party scripts or cookies in your browser, or use a content blocker. The site works fine without it — the links still go where they say they go.

What I don't do

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it entirely. You can also withdraw consent at any time — the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter does it instantly, no confirmation email chasing you afterward.

Email hello@beachvibes.ca and I'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner. There's no charge.

How long I keep things

Email and CASL

I follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. You only get email from me because you asked for it and confirmed it, every message has a working unsubscribe link, and my mailing address is on each one.

Cookies

I don't set cookies for analytics or advertising. The only cookies that may appear come from Sovrn Commerce when you click an affiliate link, as described above. You can clear or block them in your browser at any time without breaking the site.

Children

This site is meant for adults and I don't market to children or knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information in a way that matters, I'll say so in the newsletter before it takes effect rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

If you're not satisfied

Tell me first — most things are a misunderstanding I can fix quickly. If we can't resolve it, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
